Sprint has done well with the new commercials advertising what they can do on their network; however, one of their biggest hang ups with customers is that many are holding out against them because of customer service. Many consumers see Sprint as the Big Bad Blue of Large Corporations. They hold on to their experience from the late 90's during the virtual assistant debacle and slamming of contract extensions. When this is summed up over the past decade customers are will to pay a premium of $2500 to simply avoid poor customer service. Sprint needs to change this image. IBM managed to convince us that they are cool and hip with novel solutions and not a rigid behemoth is less than 10 years. Apple, the major player in personal tech still has people convinced that Microsoft is the big bad wolf. This increase in Verizon cancellation fees is a culminating point in their business strategy. Sprint need to move to show they have improved customer service and are willing to back it up with no cancellation fees. Simply its a better Sprint where Sprint believes the service has improved so much that you won't want to leave; and all for a lower price.
